1949 - For Scent-imental Reasons (Academy Award winning Short Film)

1953 - First screen credit as an animator: Duck, Rabbit, Duck!

1953-58 -

  • Animator for Chuck Jones on cartoons featuring Bugs Bunny, Coyote and Road Runner, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, and Pepé Le Pew

  • Character layout & story sketch artist for commercials

  • Animator for various industrial and commercial works

1958 - Joined UPA Pictures as animation director for 1001 Arabian Nights (Mr. Magoo)

1959 -

  • Returned to Warner Bros. to direct shorts & TV show The Bugs Bunny Show

  • As director or co-director: Baton Bunny (co-directed with Chuck Jones), Really Scent, Witch's Tangled Hare, Unnatural History, Lickety Splat (co-directed with Chuck Jones), Nelly's Folly (co-directed with Chuck Jones and Maurice Noble)

  • Rejoined UPA as supervising director

  • Director for Mr. Magoo shorts and many TV commercials

1960-61 - 130 Mr. Magoo TV shorts & 130 Dick Tracy TV shorts

1962 -

  • Director of one-hour TV special: Mr. Magoo’s Christmas Carol

  • Director of full-length feature cartoon: Gay Purr-ee

1963 - Director for GE spots featuring Mr. Magoo

1964 - Supervising director for 26 TV shows: Famous Adventures of Mr. Magoo

1965 -

  • Joined MGM Animation

  • Director of theatrical cartoons with Tom & Jerry

  • Produced and directed animation sequences for TV’s Off to See the Wizard

1966 - Producer/director for feature cartoon/live action: Adventures of Milo in the Phantom Tollbooth

1969-70 -

  • For UPA/N.B.C., the hour long TV special: Uncle Sam Magoo (Christopher Award)

  • For A.B.C., co-producer and supervising director of The Curiosity Shop

1971 - For Richard Williams Studio, London, guest artist for A Christmas Carol (Academy Award for Short Subject)

1972 - California Arts Commission Film

1973 - Started Levitow/Hanson Films doing commercials, Sesame Street, and BC: The First Thanksgiving

1974 - International Broadcasters’ Award for Where’s the ACTION? (PSA for the Peace Corps, VISTA & SCORE)

1975 - Died of multiple myeloma at age 52
